This seat replaced a high back booster for my 47lb 4yo DD. Even though this is within FHS guidelines, she was too fidgety to wear the lap belt properly. I was really glad to find a 5pt harness up to 65Lbs (in my price range). She sleeps well in it and is comfortable. The cup holder is integrated with the arm so it's nice and solid. Assembly is a cinch, ease of adjustment and installation is comperable to other seats. It seems very sturdy and the price on amazon was the best ANYWHERE, and I looked. The only negative is that the headrest fabric causes MAJOR tangles in her long hair, even when she wears it up. This hasn't happened on any of her other car seats. I plan on solving this by covering the headrest portion with a fitted cotton slipcover.

I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Up until now, I've had Evenflo car seats for my toddler because of their Consumer Reports rating, however, my husband and I were never really thrilled with their ease of use. She's about to outgrow the 40 lb. weight limit on them, however, and it was time to find a car seat / booster that would grow with her until she was big enough to sit in the car by herself. This car seat was perfect for that!

I researched for a while before selecting this car seat. I purchased one to try it out before purchasing another 2 so that we'll ultimately have 3. (One for each of our cars, plus one for our babysitter's car.) I'm thrilled with the seat and am now purchasing the other two!

The things I like:
1. The car seat just feels and looks well made. The fabric is nice, the arms are built well, the chair is a good size, but also fits perfectly well in our car. Cup holder is built in and sturdy, not flimsly like the other's I've had.

2. Easy to size with lots of slots for the internal harness and lots of positions for the headrest. The adjustment to tighten or loosen the harness is also very easy to get to and adjust.

3. Great headrest. I love the "wings" on the headrest...gives my toddler something to rest her head on when she falls asleep.

4. The internal harness buckles are very well made; buckle and release very smoothly. I also like the padding for the upper part of the harness (never had these on my other carseats.)

5. Easy to install in car. It was also very easy to tighten...it fit well on the seat and tightened up very easily. Car seat didn't even budge once I had it tightened.

I bought this for my son when he turned 2, a year ago. It is the last carseat you'll need. The seat was very easy to put together and set up. Yes there are a lot of eye hooks, but not a problem to put together. I love the deep seat, cubbies in the arm rest and deep cup holder. The seat is easy to adjust for height and extremely easy to install with a seatbelt. I never had a carseat the installed snugly so fast. Since we use a seatbelt to install, the latch belts are hidden and not hanging out all over the place like other carseats. I love the deep seat and the side wings on the seat. My child is no doubt snug and secure. I do find the red shoulder belt guides to be the best indicator of when to adjust the harness straps to the correct height. The shoulders should be below the guides, and they are in line with the harness slots. It is simple to get a perfect fit with this seat.

The cons are minor and don't affect the functioning of the seat. 1. The cover is velcroed at the top. It is so snug, that on ours the cover doesn't velcro. It is off by a 1/4-1/3 inch. My 2.5 is always pulling it off. 2. The seat cover is really light in color and gets dirty very quickly. On the positive side, Idon't have to remove the entire cover to wash one section. For example, when the diaper leaks, I only have to wash the dirty part and not the entire thing and it doesn't take all day to dry.

I have contemplated purchasing one to replace my 6yo turbo booster. His Turbo booster is very flimsy in comparison to this rock solid seat. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a forward facing seat for their toddler.

The not so great? The 3 part machine washable pads and covers can be tedious to remove/install for cleaning. With practice, you should be able to reassemble one in under 5 minutes. This only bugs me because I do 3 at a time and 15 free minutes are hard to fiund in my house. :)

We initially bought this seat for my 4 year old and found it to be so comfortable and protective we tossed our 2 year old's Britax Roundabout and bought the Graco Nautilus for him as well. In addition to all the safety features you would expect in any car seat this booster also has a roomier "captain's chair" which will be comfortable for kids as they grow - all the way to 100 lbs(unlike other seats that say they accomodate children of a certain size and weight but squeeze too tight). The booster also has head restraints on the sides which protect from whiplash in the event of a collision, but which also provide a comfortable headrest for napping in the car. The cupholder and little "storage" compartment in the arm rests (also absent on most seats) provide endless entertainment for both of my kids. The seat also reclines - not a lot but enough to make sitting and napping far more comfortable than in other models, and the 5-point harness and convertible booster options mean the seat is appropriate for infants all the way up through 100lb. kids. The other nice feature is the adjustable crotch strap so that the bigger kids really can fit comfortably with the 5-point harness which is not possible in some of the other boosters out there. If I had known about this seat from the beginning I never would have bought the Britax, I would have started with an infant car seat and gone straight to this at around 9-12 months. I honestly think this seat is the best value for your money because you will not have to buy another booster as your kids get bigger. You can just take the back off the seat and use the car's shoulder harness until your child is big enough for no more booster -- and you child will be comfortable in the seat until then. We recently moved our 3.5 year old from a rear facing Britax Marathon Convertible Car Seat Onyx into a Graco Nautilus. While the Nautilus seems to do its job of keeping my son safe and secure in the car, it is lacking in several areas.

We are using the seat with the harness for our son and we love the smooth harness adjuster and high harness strap heights. My son loves the cup holder and the cubbies in the armrests.

However, the headrest on the seat tends to push his head forward as he sleeps causing it to dangle and the buckle on the harness sticks frequently even though it is a brand new seat and we don't let our son eat or drink in the car. The seat was easy to install with LATCH or the seatbelt, but the process could be made even simpler if Graco would add alligator style LATCH clips and seatbelt lockoffs.

The Nautilus is also narrow in the shoulders and has a very shallow crotch strap. My 3.5 year old string bean is already sitting on the outermost crotch buckle strap and I'm a little worried that he might be seriously uncomfortable in the seat before he is mature enough to sit properly in a booster at age 6.

We also really dislike the cheap fabric on the seat--we've only had ours for two weeks and it already looks worn.
