I did lots of research for booster car seats, which held a child over 40lbs in the harness. I just wasn't ready to spend nearly $300 on a Britax car seat, not that my child's safety isn't worth it, but I knew I could get quality and savings in the same seat. So, reviews said the only major problem with this seat was the crotch strap and buckle rest too close to the child's groin and are uncomfortable. I found this to be absolutely true if you keep the padding in. When I removed the extra padding, my 4yr old daughter, who is over 40" tall and 38lbs, fit like a glove. Yes, she is snug and wears this seat well, but I prefer she be well strapped in without lots of room to move around. So, for the price, I feel this seat will work for our family, especially since I have a 2.5 yr old who is 32lbs and 34inches.
